Interceptive treatment, sometimes referred to as Phase I treatment, is necessary for only select cases. A proper and careful diagnosis is required to tell if interceptive treatment is needed.
A great time for your child's first orthodontic evaluation is at the age of 7. At this young age, certain problems such as crossbites, severe crowding, or differences in the size of the top and bottom jaws can be treated with a high degree of success. This early treatment will set your child up for success in the future! However, Dr. Mosery believes strongly in avoiding “over-treatment”. This means avoiding unnecessary early treatment that may not actually have long term positive effects. We are committed with integrity to only treat those patients who will really benefit in the long run from early intervention.
