Invisalign Overview

Congratulations on beginning your journey towards your new smile! Once the diagnostic records have been taken, Dr. Mosery will diagnose and plan your treatment. We then submit a detailed prescription to Invisalign, which will outline all of the goals of your treatment. Dr. Mosery customizes every aspect of your Invisalign treatment to suit your specific needs. Each tooth is carefully evaluated and moved by Dr. Mosery to the correct spot. Once an optimal treatment plan is achieved, aligners are manufactured.

Attachments are placed painlessly by our skilled orthodontic assistants. These attachments are like little handles for the aligner to grip, increasing the efficiency of your treatment and assuring your teeth move according to plan.

In some cases elastics may be prescribed for bite correction. You will be instructed in detail on the care of your aligners, such as cleaning, insertion and removal of the aligners, and when to switch to the next set. We work with each patient until they feel confident and comfortable with the care of their new aligners.

There is a learning curve with aligners! Keep in mind, it may take you a few days to adjust speaking with them, and for your mouth to adjust having them in! After your initial visits, your next appointment will be scheduled between 8-16 weeks depending on your specific needs.

At follow-up visits, Dr. Mosery will evaluate your progress to assure all is going as planned. Oftentimes at the end of a series of aligners, touch ups are needed to perfect your smile. A new digital scan and photos will be taken in order to make refinement aligners to continue your progress.

At the end of your treatment, Dr. Mosery will easily polish off your attachments, and make any micro esthetic adjustments to your teeth to suit your needs. This may include esthetic bonding, or recontouring of worn teeth for a uniform and finished appearance.

An assistant will polish and prepare your teeth for your fixed retainer. Dr. Mosery will then place your fixed retainers behind your top and bottom front teeth to maintain your beautiful new smile for years to come. These retainers are made of 18 karat white gold, and are not visible from the outside. A night time retainer will be made from a 3D printed model, which you will receive. Our talented assistant will review proper hygiene and care of your new retainers. Nightly retainer wear is essential for your successful outcome to last a lifetime.
